Molly Kosar, LCSW
Molly Kosar, LCSW has experience working in a variety of settings including intensive outpatient, residential treatment, and school-based counseling. Molly discovered a passion for RO DBT in 2019, when she attended a one-day introductory training in Atlanta, Georgia. Inspired by the potential she saw for working with clients who had not responded to other therapies, Molly quickly enrolled in the full RO DBT certification program and began implementing skills with clients struggling with chronic, presentient mental health problems.
Molly specializes in evidenced-based treatments including: Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Compassion-Based Cognitive Training, and Motivational Interviewing. Molly often incorporates mindfulness and somatic experiencing into therapy. Molly works with adolescents, teens, and adults. She concentrates on treating chronic anxiety, chronic depression, history of trauma, addiction, and overcontrolled personality disorders such as OCPD, Avoidant PD, Dependent PD, along with social anxiety and OCD.
Molly has a Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work with a Certificate in Social Work with Latinx. Molly graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a BA in Psychology and a BA in Spanish. Prior to joining RO DBT Denver, Molly worked in both private practice and as a dual-diagnosis primary counselor at Skyland Trail, in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the nation’s top residential mental health facilities.
In her career journey, Molly has found a love for helping people discover and trust their unique inner strength. Clients often tell Molly that she balances compassion with asking the "tough" questions to propel them forward in life.
